One Belt One Road (OBOR) is an initiative that focuses on improving and creating new trading routes and business opportunities with China, passing through over sixty countries across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. As part of the ancient Maritime Silk Road and an integral part of the modern “Belt and Road”, Hong Kong can contribute as a trading and logistics hub for the advancement of the OBOR
initiative.
This session consists of three parts:
- Dr Robin Li will share how China Merchants Holdings
International interprets this national strategy, identify
opportunities from it and formulate plan to realize it into
business models.
- Dr Y.H. Venus Lun will present a short summary based on the preliminary findings from the recent survey on “OBOR: Opportunities and Challenges for Hong Kong”.
- Hong Kong SMEs engaged in trading and logistics will be able to take advantage of the burgeoning opportunities in countries along the Belt and Road. Mr Eric Wong will share with the audience his knowledge and experience of setting up a SME business in Myanmar, his views on overcoming the challenges and profiting from the opportunities.
