This session consists of four papers that examine various topics on transport policy and strategy.
- The Indian Ocean routes are strategically important to China. Therefore, the first study examines the dilemma of Malacca and the Maritime Silk Road (MSR) strategy. The author will also discuss the design and layout of China’s Indian Ocean strategy.
- Transports Internationaux Routiers (TIR) is a global transit system based on the TIR Convention of the United Nation. Most of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) members are on the OBOR map. The second study thus analyses, quantifies and presents the economic benefits of the TIR system in selected UNESCAP member countries.
- By conducting literature review, the third study
systematically presents the risk classifications. This study
proposes a quality management-based improvement framework to
facilitate the investigation of port logistics risk. The
authors have also introduced a step-by step approach for
improvement actions.
