Welcome Messages

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you all to the Seventh POMS-HK International Conference!

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University hosted the inaugural POMS-HK International Conference in December 2009. Seven years later, we are delighted to be the host again. With the University of Macau as our co-organizer, we are having the Seventh POMS-HK International Conference in Macao in 2016.

The theme of the conference Innovation-driven Services and Operations is intriguing. A forward-looking topic, it underscores the purpose of the conference, which is to share ideas and discuss new problems and challenges to the management of service and operations systems. We have two prominent Keynote Speakers, namely Professor Paul H. Zipkin from Duke University and Professor Refael Hassin from Tel Aviv University. The conference will continue to be an annual event that provides a global forum for academics, students, and practitioners to share knowledge, experience, and insights on emerging production and operations issues of significance and relevance to research and practice. It also helps foster collaboration and networking among the conference participants.

I hope that the POMS-HK International Conference will prove to be a hallmark annual event in our society. I look forward to seeing you all at the conference.

The theme of the conference is Innovation-driven Services and Operations. The conference will allow participants engaged in the related research to discuss the interaction of manufacturing and service operations.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our new campus. I would also like to thank all conference committees, honorable speakers and participants for their support to this conference.
